Snow in southern England..

It finally snowed in the southern part of England today. I woke up to some hammering noise at the window and I thought it was rain, only to be shocked by the white carpet of snow. Phones calls about the snowfall made rounds in the part of England I was in, Reading.

It was an auspicious occasion to some extent, as the stuff had only been falling in northern England and also Scotland in the just ended winter. The snowfall was quite a surprise considering that England is now well into spring, but it created fun for kids as they made snowballs and pelted cars on the roads.
